This is what was said about the previous retreat in May…

I thoroughly enjoyed the Wellbeing Retreat Day. I found the nurturing Yoga Nidra Practice the best of all, mainly because I felt totally relaxed. The day was well planned & in the lovely venue of Barnabas Arts House. I felt so lucky to be taught by a true professional and look forward to the next Wellbeing Day.” Helen

Thank you for a lovely day last Sunday. I felt totally nourished, nurtured & very relaxed throughout the whole day. It was my first experience of mindfulness and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It really does make you stop in your tracks and appreciate what’s around you, instead of rushing all the time and thinking about what you have to do next. I will definitely be more ‘mindful’ in the future.” Hayley

“I loved the opportunity of treating myself to experience the sense of calm, timelessness & loving kindness thanks to Philomena” Jan

Thank you for what had been a beautiful day. I thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. You created an opportunity for us all to take away some learning and loving; so for that I thank you”  Jo

Between the Crosses @ Barnabas Arts House
    Thursday: 7:30 pm – 8:30 pm

    Between the Crosses

By Will Huggins / Flying Bridge Theatre Company

Edgar Huggins, WWI veteran and the last surviving Durham Light Infantryman, speaks to his great nephew William from beyond the grave in a recorded interview. He talks about how he joined up because he wanted to work with horses, but found himself on the front line. His account of Ypres and the Somme is honest, shocking and direct. He held his tongue in life… for national security and to spare his family the horror.

This new play explores the guilt of the survivor and society’s need to create a hero.

    Suitable for age 12+

    Thursday: 7:30 pm – 10:00 pm

    FRINGE FESTIVAL EVENT

An evening of performance, spoken word & comedy

    - celebrating the works of female writers & performers, featuring Leila Herandi, Katy Arnell & Karen Sherrard. You don’t have to be a woman to attend!

An exciting newcomer to BAH Fringe is Soup Stained Arts Theatre Company who will be performing ‘P’ – a solo performance, by Leila Herandi, of physical & verbal storytelling. Presenting a week in the life of the lovable lunatic we walk past on the street, forever wondering what goes on beneath the surface of this familiar stranger.

Also performing on this evening is Karen Sherrard in ‘A Fête Worse Than Death’.

Welcome to the village fête in Llanfairchwaraesboncen, nestled in the South Wales Valleys. Join your host, 76 year old village busybody Eirys Evans, in a fun-filled romp complete with competitions, slide shows and audience participation. Also featuring guest speaker, Esme de Flange, a lascivious TV gardener providing advice on sowing seed, trimming your shrubbery and producing a prize marrow. But will you be able to contain yourself for the grand finale? THE RAFFLE!

This one-woman show, written and performed by Karen Sherrard (winner of Last Mic Standing 2014 and Welsh Unsigned Stand-up finalist 2016) comes fresh from the Edinburgh Fringe.

“Refreshing, wry, warm, witty and winsome…you want to bottle Sherrard and take her home” Colin Sell, BBC Radio 4′s I’m Sorry I Haven’t a Clue.

“Well-observed, clever and funny… with the warmth and edge of comedians such as Victoria Wood and Caroline Aherne” The Scotsman
